Clove – an aromatic and versatile spice
Cloves are the aromatic flower buds of the tree Syzygium aromaticum, a member of the myrtle family (Myrtaceae), commonly used as a spice. Cloves are used in the cuisines of Asia, Africa, and the Middle East to add aroma to meat, curries, and marinades, as well as fruits such as apples, pears, or rhubarb. Cloves can also be used to add aroma and flavor to hot beverages, often in combination with other ingredients like lemon and sugar. They are also frequently used in spice blends such as pumpkin pie spice and speculoos spice blend.

Cloves are also used in dentistry, where the essential oil is employed as a pain reliever for dental procedures and various other ailments.
